So I was up over the $20 mark at one point this weekend, but finished slightly below.  Here are the updates for the weekend:

Had my first losing session at the 0.02/0.04 L tables today, but made up for it with a 2nd place finish in a $1 SNG.  Played pretty well at the cash tables, just took some bad beats….which I had been avoiding up until now.  Results for todays session are -$1.01 at 0.02/0.04 L and +$1.50 for my 2nd place finish in the $1 SNG.  Today is my last day of work so I plan to play a little more over the Christmas break but will also be traveling home and visiting with family so I probably won’t play much on those days.

Another fun lunch session.  Ended up +$1.95.  Woulda been up a lot more when I had 78 and flop came 9/10/J.  I bet it hard on every street, but couldn’t get a guy to fold his AK and of course Q comes on the river.  I’m going to start mixing in $1 SNGs now and see how that goes.  I’m still going to primarily focus on the limit cash game as that has been very good to me.  I think that once I reach $20 I will move up to the 0.05/0.10 L level.

Played last night for a few hours and won another $1.54.  Took a few beats, but was also running pretty good.  Had one hand where I had AA v KK and flop was AK10.  We got heads up and were capping every street.  Hopefully after todays lunch I will be able to start mixing in some $1 SNGs.  SNGs are my bread and butter, so I look forward to this.

Well, for all of you that thought that I was going to go busto……I don’t think that’s going to happen.  At least for a while.  Last night was a good night at the limit table and I feel pretty confident that this is where I need to be to build a bankroll for a while.  The play is attrocious and I have yet to have a losing session.  Last night I made a $1.43.  Thanks to JKK for coming by and playing with the fish.

Well, I almost went busto last night.  I’m a pretty good Stud H/L player and heard that the 0.04/0.08 game is pretty soft, so I gave it a shot.  I took 80 cents to the table (10 big bets), which is what I normally take to a SHL game.  Definitely light, but I tend to get by with this amount.  The only problem with this system comes into play in this situation:  when you have a decent high hand with a good draw to the low and you miss your low and get scooped by a better high.  I had 2 pair As and 8s on 4th street and couldnt bet this guy off his broadway draw (obv. not going to happen at this level).  So I keep the aggression up as I start to get a low draw on 5th and 6th.  I miss the low on 7th and he obv. hits his broadway draw on 7th, gg me. 

So I take my last 40 cents to the 0.02/0.04 L table.  Started running good, then things turned around as my big hands were not holding up against the fish.  I was getting really low and decided to take my shot with this hand:

After that I was able to work it back up over 50 cents and ended up at 48 cents.  So last nights session was -80 cents at 0.04/0.08 SHL and +8 cents at 0.02/0.04 L.  I’m really starting to realize how much of a grind this is going to be and I’m hoping for some good luck today.  As I said yesterday, today will be the last day that I will post here.  After today, follow on my blog if you like.
